Don’t let that person expect to receive anything from the Lord. For the one who doubts, the one who wants to know God’s will just to consider it, not to really do it, will be like a surf in the sea, tossed here and there. But let him ask in faith without any doubting. If by chance, that’s too hard and too difficult and you don’t know how to do it right now, if any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God who gives to all men generously and without reproach. Let endurance have its perfect or perfecting result that you might be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. Why? Knowing the testing of your faith produces endurance. On this journey, we’ve learned to do something very counterintuitive – to consider it all joy, my brothers, when you encounter various trials. That some people are going to go through all of their life as victims, and others as survivors and then even conquerors. In this journey in a fallen, difficult world where we learn that trials are inevitable, that trials and difficulties are going to make some people and they’re going to break other people.
